“I am proud to say that my journey as a product design student at Indus University has been nothing short of transformative. The program’s comprehensive curriculum and hands-on approach have equipped me with the skills and knowledge needed to thrive in the dynamic field of product design.

The faculty at Indus University comprises seasoned professionals and dedicated educators who are passionate about nurturing creativity and innovation. Their guidance has been instrumental in shaping my design thinking and problem-solving abilities. The emphasis on practical projects has allowed me to apply theoretical concepts to real-world scenarios, providing a holistic learning experience.

I am pleased to share my experience working on a system and service design project under the guidance of my mentor. Throughout the project, Sir provided invaluable insights and direction, enabling me to develop a basic prototype for an app that enhances navigation in the city of Ahmedabad.

The app addresses crucial aspects for locals and tourists, offering real-time information on parking, toilets, ATMs, authentic food joints, and cultural events. Rohit Sir’s mentorship played a pivotal role in identifying opportunity areas and shaping the project’s success.

As a product design student at Indus University, I feel confident and well-prepared to embark on a successful career in the ever-evolving world of design. I am grateful for the enriching experiences, supportive mentors, and holistic education that have shaped me into a competent and creative designer ready to make a meaningful impact.”

During my two and a half years at this university studying Communication Design, I’ve had the privilege of encountering a diverse array of individuals who have enriched my learning journey profoundly. Interacting with people from various cultural and familial backgrounds has broadened my perspective, teaching me invaluable lessons not only related to my field but also about life itself. The significance of having a supportive and knowledgeable faculty cannot be overstated. Their guidance has been instrumental in navigating both academic challenges and personal growth.

My time at IDS has been exceptionally rewarding, especially in semester 5, where we embarked on a collaborative project. Together, we conceptualized, researched, and brought to life 11 pop-up shops showcasing innovative, craft-focused brands. From developing brand identities to crafting websites and custom packaging, every aspect of the project was meticulously executed.

Furthermore, we created engaging infographics detailing the history and craftsmanship behind each product, designed captivating signage and internal store communications, and implemented visual merchandising strategies to enhance the overall shopping experience.

In essence, the learning experience at IDS has been both enriching and fulfilling, thanks to the supportive community, dedicated faculty, and hands-on projects that have allowed us to apply our skills in real-world scenarios.

I’m Ishaa Nadar, a passionate and aspiring interior design student at INDUS UNIVERSITY. Studying in a design school with a focus on Interior design provides a unique and inspiring atmosphere. The vibrant studio spaces are filled with a symphony of colors, materials, and creative energy. Our faculty’s passion for design is palpable, fostering a sense of gratitude and motivation among students. Our studio focused on Institutional design with an initial phase involving the selection of a virgin slum for a case study.

Subsequently, we conducted research on different types of institutions and specifically studied an Anganwadi’s located in Rancharda. An Anganwadi typically refers to a rural child care center in India, focusing on to contextual study of the surrounding area within a 500-meter radius. From where I’d identified different types of communities, observed their lifestyle, differences of opinion, and daily activities. Subsequently, I’d listed various activities and hobbies, with the goal of designing a space to accommodate these interests, specifically a “Community Engaging Workshop Space.”

The project aimed to address the specific needs and context of the rural community, incorporating sustainable and locally sourced materials such as bamboo, mud, bricks, lime. The Learning center aimed to be a multifunctional space, fostering community interaction and skill development.
