Model Making

“Form follows function” is a design principle that suggests that the shape and design of an object or structure should be primarily based on its intended function or purpose. This principle is often associated with modernist and minimalist design philosophies and has been influential in various fields, including architecture, industrial design, and product design. In this, students understand various factors(ergonomics, ease of access, functionality, form, aesthetics) for creating various products. One of the products is a chair which is a perfect example of “Form follows function” and also serves its function. In this, students used corrugated sheets to understand the material and form of the chair. This particular course enables students to understand the materials and how to mold those material into models, prototypes, or any kind of product.
